Yes
OK, So I am now back in Bristol after 5 days away as frankly I was bored and it was so cold down there this morning, I though my winky was going to fall off.

Anyway, have to say I think I have had a prophetic few days. I can see myself living in a caravan when Mum and Dad are long gone. At 35 I simply cant afford a new place since my marriage ended and reckon a caravan may be where it is at.

Anyway, this afternoon, my Dad who is 63 asked me a favour. Would I trim his nose and ear hair as I always harp on about it?

So I did. Was one of those father and son bonding moments again. I really love my Dad, he is an amazing man. Turns out that after all these years he has no middle bit in his nose as wasted away due to chrome spraying when he was an apprentice. You learn something new everyday. I kid you not when I say I could see his brain.

In the end I asked my Mum to call Sting as I said we could remake a rainforest with his clippings.

Funny old days eh?

Dont know why I am writing this. Just had a nice day is all. On a really good combo of anti depressants and have not felt this upbeat in an age. .

On a different note, had a great new hair cut as well, short and point cut on top, lots of edge but had the back chemically straightened so I look like a german footballer which was my objective. Think contrived trailer park trash I suppose.

Dad said I look like Adrian Mole  Maybe thats the link to this monologue type post.

The secret diary of Diego Garcia aged 35 & 1/3rd.

lolol, make the most of these moments, your parents are gone all too soon and the good memories will be all you have left.

Glad to hear you are so feeling so good Diego :) Do we get to see this new hairdo then?

Nice post. :) Some times, I wonder what I'm doing in the UK and whether I'll regret it some time in the future because I'm not spending time back home with the old folks and the rest of my family. Then again, will I regret it if I go back and can't get an interesting/well paid job like the one I have now? Always a trade off with every decision made when it comes to life.

Nice to hear about your father/son day,Pete ... but the nose hair bit was tmi!

I used to cut my dad's hair and used to love to get hold of his Dennis Heally's (brows). I miss my dad terribly & am always reminded of him on a nice bright cold day like today as these were his favourite days, and we spent many of them on the road together.

My own mood is all up & down at the moment, I feel like Im on the edge of some life changing decisions and I can see me walking away from Nails soon as frankly it bores me .... anyone want to teach me to be a fotografera?

Oh ... life changing decisions already kicked into motion ... Ive bought a green fleece to add to my 7 black ones ... so Im actually wearing something that isnt black!

Black to green. Be careful Glo. Its a dangerous world out there! As we all know, black is a hue anyway not a colour so its all good.

Good to hear things on the up and up for you and a touching story to boot:thumbs:

Just never, ever ask if you can pick your Dad's brains!

I'm really pleased you've had a good day. Treasure memories like that - they really can help on the not-so-good days :)

And the housing thing? Don't worry, I'm in the same boat - 'rent' ain't such a bad word at the end of the day!

And Gloria - life changing decisions come along once in a while. I'm on the verge of a couple myself, but whatever path I decide to go down, I'm looking forward to the challenge!

Never a truer word spoken.. If I could have my parents back for just a day I would give everything I own..:(

When they are here you take them for granted.. When they are gone there is so much you want to say to them but its too late..

Nice to hear your story Pete.:)

I find myself back at my parents after comming back from working away, and splitting from the GF.

And being back at home with my parents is far better now i'm older and slightly more wiser (some would say dafter). We seem to be have more of a laugh than I ever did before, Like Busterboy says you have to make the most of it.

I know I am.

PS - My mum cooks better than I or my ex could ever dream off.

One down side is trying to get them to go out when you have a bit of company  :woot: :woot: :D :D Know what i mean !
