Strange Analytics Data

Over the last week or so I've noticed a few strange traffic sources for my website - mostly from Russia and a lot that seem to come from forums in other countries etc

Anyone else experienced anything like this?

I havn't seen this particular one, but there does seem to be a lot of referral spoofing around at the moment. Ie people whose browsers have some sort of mild infection that puts down a preprogrammed url as the referral address when visiting sites. The aim of this is basically to get webmasters and website owners to then go visit that url. I get many daily, I suspect it's something to do with semalt

Ah that makes sense. I'm up to 16 acquisitions from that same source today. A record.

I couldn't resist and paid it a visit - just redirects to some sort of bargain shopping site.
