Storing cameras

Dunno really Neil. Bottom line for camera storage in a climate like yours is keeping the humidity low, rather than the temperature specifically. I'm sure I've seen cabinets for such a task in photography forums over the years but couldn't necessarily point you towards one. Perhaps you should be looking more towards a humidor if you can't find something camera specific?
 
Humidity control is more important than temperature, and storing them warm & dry is fine, but cool and damp isn't. That will be useful if you can regulate the humidity.
 
I wouldn't.
The best humidity level for storage is also the best humidity level for comfort (approx. 40%), so the best option is to have the humidity levels in your house within reason... if AC is in use it may actually be a bit lower. Additionally, locking your gear up in a dark spot with no airflow isn't really beneficial either.

If reasonable humidity control in the room/house isn't an option and the temp/dewpoint tend to be close (very uncomfortable), then a humidity controlled "dry cabinet" with airflow is probably your best option. Maybe something like the Sirui HC cabinets...
 
The most humid place I've been in for any length of time is Thailand and other than that a visit to The Eden Project. In Thailand one camera went with me and my other camera and kit was left in a room with the air con which would have been on all night off. In use outside and taking no special measures I didn't get any problems at the Eden Project but I did get a series of three or four slightly out of focus shots with my MFT Panasonic GX7 at a very humid spot in Thailand presumably because something fogged up but my A7 was fine the next time we went there again by air conditioned car. Unless going into something like an extremely humid rain forest or staying in room which was very uncomfortable I don't think I'd think I'd take more than normal care. Anyway, I'm going again next month so I'll see if I've just been lucky so far.

If you're still around Malaysia - look at Shashinki online for their range of dry boxes - can be picked up for around RM500-1000 depending on size.... (Produced by Aipo)
