Stop Xfactor being christmas No.1

Damn! I hate X Factor. Not so much of Cowell, but the rubbish they have in. I mean, singing different styles of music... Can you imagine the likes of Elvis, Jagger or Bowie doing this? None would have a hope of winning X Factor. It is bland pop, end of!

Yup, because that's pretty much exactly how Elvis made his break and how The Stones tried to break into the US market.

Opportunity Knocks and New Faces weren't too bad at finding decent talent either.

Personally I can't stand the thing, but the formula is old as television, if you view it as a variety/talent introduction show, and it works.

I wouldn't mind if they ran the x factor in June or July is the way it's set up to steal the xmas number one that I object to, where have all our christmasie songs gone the ones we all sing along to when we've had to much of the falling down water?

well mariah carey released a christmas song this year i think, it was naff
kylie minogue released a christmas song and it was so crap chris evans turned it off
Coldplay wrote a christmas song but it was so miserable that most of the people that would have bought the track slit their wrists instead.

maybe if people got behind one christmas song next year and not 15 different tracks they might stand a chance of competing with cowells comercialism (like last year) rather than this years disoganised mishmash of different tracks some of them good some of they absolute rubbish

This thread is racking up some extra xfacter hits for google.

Just ignore it who cares, put your £1 into a charity pot if you don't like the song, or spend that 4mins that you would of been listening to it doing something else.

Anyway, 4'33" was never going to challenge as no way were that many people ever going to be persuaded to buy it.

Nah, Cage's 4'33" was much too highbrow to appeal as a single.

They needed to edit it down to 3 minutes! :p
