I need convincing not to change systems, after years I now have all the kit I wanted, I am an Olympus man,I have the E3, would like E5 but not much of a upgrade for £1500, now I have the urge to go full frame I keep looking at 5d11, please convince me not to

DO IT. You wont look back or regret it.

Sorry, Im not much help am I...

It will cost you a lot when you have to buy lots of lovely L glass....

Does this help?

Exactly.. not just £1500 for the body because after a couple of decent lenses and maybe other bits and bobs you're probably going to be more than £2500 down.

*But it'll probably be worth it ;)*

Stick with the E3 it is a fantasic camera and I bet you do not use it to its full potential.

Full frame is very nice but it won't make you a better photographer and Zuiko glass is just as good a 'L' glass.

another vote for the 5DII :) I absolutely love mine :), there will be a flood of Nikon folk soon im sure but at the end of the day you've already decided and your just on here so that we can all push you over the edge (thats what i normally do anyway).

Do what I did when i bought my Gemini 500Pros, I decided i wanted them and before i could convince myself its a bad idea i bought them :P no going back then :P I dropped £1200 that day lol

What zuiko lenses do you have?

Because if you don't have a 12-60, try one before changing systems.

You haven't said what's wrong with your Olympus system...?

Nothing wrong with the e3, fancy full frame, oly glass is good, I have 12-60SWD, 50 - 200 SWD, ec14, 35 macro, 9 - 18 & my holiday lens 18-180, also Grip & flash.
I should just stick with what I got , convinse me

It's just gear lust then :naughty: Which is fine, if you've got the cash spare.

It's an expensive business. You'll lose a stack selling your Olympus kit, so check that out first. Replacing that lot with a 5D2 and a nice set of L lenses will cost you thousands.

with the 5d mark iii coming out later this year wont it be better to hold on to buy the 5d mark ii to either get it cheaper or buy the 5d mark iii itself?

I would think the 5diii will cost a fortune when released. Wouldn't think it will have that significant an effect that I'd hang about for several months to wait and see if the price drops.

5dii is a great camera. Especially with the right glass.

i would really like to move to 5d ii myself - particularly for the high iso performance. However, I am happy enough with the 50d to wait that extra few months. However if i did not have a camera at all i would just buy the 5d ii now.
