Any tips? I have some door mats that sit on the hall carpet, one by each door that exits to outside, and they are forever sliding to the left.(towards the door hinges)
Any thing I can use to make em stay put?

And please, no araldite suggestions! :D

Thanks

OK, then how about a nail gun ;)

On a more serious note ... you can get some anti slip stuff but I've never found it to work very well. I have seen Velcro work though (though never used it myself), depending on carpet type - attach the hook side on the bottom of the mat, the loop side isn't used.

Yes. Bend down at move it ;)

Seriously though what material mats are they to move on carpet?

No idea of the material, cost about £5 or so each from wilkinsons, "carpet" sort of material. Not coir or anything.

Double sided selotape.
You can get extra strong tape from carpet fitters suppliers.

Some good ideas coming in. Cheers all. (y)

Double sided tape sounds a goer.

And it works. Might leave some sticky residue on the carpet should you ever decide to not have a mat there but you can get Sticky Stuff Remover which will erm... remove the sticky stuff!

It'll probably be moving because of the pile in the hall carpet moving the mat overtime you walk on it - ours does following a carpet laying last year - old carpet was that flat nothing moved !

As has been suggested, some double sided carpet tape can help stop it moving,

Point of interest....the gripper strips (any kind), don't leave any kind of residue should you (or Mrs DD) wish to lift for the purpose of vacuuming etc., and can be used again, which tape can't.

This is true. But it does mean having to go to Ikea. :runaway:
