Im probably on a loser here but anyone got any tips to stop neighbours cigarette fumes permeating into my property? I cant really expect him to stop, home is about the only place you're allowed to these days.
I have all windows closed and somehow it still gets in and p***es me off.
Some sort of higher pressure in the house than outside maybe, how though?

Cheers for any tips!

How does it enter? Does he stand outside smoking?

I’ve never heard of pressurising a house internally and can’t imagine it’s practically possible.

The only solution I guess is some sort of air filter within your house, either that or take up smoking yourself so that it doesn’t bother you anymore! :D

Could it be the small air vents at the top of the windows letting the smoke in? Other than that I'd be looking at any gaps with doors, keyholes, even floor/wall and seal up with decorators caulk if not already done so. There may also be vents low down for underfloor airflow depending on your house.

Alternatively, you could always get one of those carbon monoxide monitors which actually gives you a digital reading and install wherever you feel the smoke is coming in strongest. It's highly unlikely due to dilution with the outside air but you never know, if the reading goes high then you may have an actual case to confront him. If not then every time he smokes just press the test button so that you can kindly say that his smoking keeps setting off the alarms, so could he possibly smoke further away?

In the op's defence, I used to smoke and I know my neighbours always got a monk on when the wind blew it towards their house. I did feel a little bad, but they are a right bunch of knobbers so I wasn't too upset by it. However, I kicked the stinky habit years ago, and now everyone is happy. they are still knobbers though.

get him on the weed ,you'll still smell it but at least you'll be happy about it :cool::cool:
