Well whoever your are thanks a millon, stolen some how from my computer ALL my photos/images,

I COULD SWEAR BUT I WOULD RATHER HAVE THEM BACK, fat chance.

What do you mean? someone on this site stole all your images from your computer?

How the hell can that happen?

They seem to be implying that someone from this site hacked into their computer, downloaded all their photos and then deleted them. Er, what? I seriously doubt that.
 
You can count me out.......I wouldnt have a CLUE how to do such a thing...even if I wanted to.

Why would we want your photos..........we all have our own! :shrug:

Fraid it wasn't us sir, it was yourself that did it, here's a screenshot from the admin log.

Or

Did you delete them because someone stole photos from your computer and you deleted your gallery because you are leaving us?

if someone wants to steal my pics id be delighted it would free up some space and to think they were good enough to steal would make me happy
as i always back up all photos onto disc.....

Oh, i thought the name was issey, where you get Les from? :p

As for your problem Issey, for someone to be able to hack into your computer by just knowing your IP is extremely difficult, you have to know all sorts of programming languages, cmd's etc. And unless you had incriminating photos of the american president, i doubt anyone would go to the hassle. If you mean the photos from your hard-drive (probably c:/ ) have been deleted theres a few things you can do.

Check the recycling bin which should be on your desktop, you might of accidently deleted the folder where you keep your photos. You could also try a system restore to the last time you knew your photos were on your hard drive. This can be done by going to your:

Start menu ----> Programs ----> Accessories ----> System Tools ----> System Restore.

Before making a post of this nature I would actually get some decent facts about what has happened to your images before you slam the door leaving us all in tears..:cuckoo:

I know Im not computer literate but I am surprised to hear that.

Also, why would any ametuer tog want to 'steal' the pics of another?
If they were top drawer images, and I were that way inclined, Id still be to afraid to do something like that myself, incase you still had all the evidence on a CF to prove the images were yours... this happened to me once with someone trying to pass off my image as theirs to a magazine, and they were the ones who ended up looking the fool.
 
Sometimes I think TPF needs a gene pool filter. ;)
 
Your post is not very clear .. Issey

If your photos have been deleted from your hard drive you can still recover them.

Try searching google for some recovery software. Lots of software like this offers free trials of its wares.

Let us know more about what has happened.
 
Such a daft thread. I mean if someone did this then they would have to excel in computing know how.

How can you say they have been stolen. What is to say that you havent deleted them by mistake. Ive done it to batches of mine in the past by moving data and overwriting file names.

Really is no point in blaming a forum of photo lovers for this. If you are been serious then maybe you should be asking for advice in recovery rather than make such a long arm shot for blame.
 
Apologies, apologies whatever happened I have recovered them for a backup drive. I panicked without thinking and put up the thread, deleted my gallery etc.

So do your worst with me plonker yes etc etc etc , but at least I am big enough to apologies and I accept the thousand beatings

Issey, When I read your first post I had to check the date. Thought maybe April 1st had come round again. :lol: Glad you you got your pics back. As someone said earlier a good advert for backing up regularly.

I'm curious though, why did you think one of us had 'taken' your photo's ? :thinking: Don't you belong to any other photography forums?

Well, I'm glad I popped back into this thread........when I first saw it, I have to admit to feeling very angry that someone would accuse us all of being photo thieves/computer hackers. I therefore didn't bother to check back in, until I noticed this thread hanging around and wondered why.........


So, Issey......consider yourself almost forgiven..;)


Now....penance......hmmmm....any ideas anyone :D
