Hi,
My flat was broken into yesterday.

As far as I can tell they stole the following:

Canon 5d Mk3- 083024014090 attached to
Canon 40mm 2.8- 8901001091
Flipside Pro 300- black
Canon Rebel XSi
Green and beige Nat Geo camera bag containing an 18-55mm kit lens and various filters
Red HP laptop, not sure on model no
PS3- this was broken on the Wednesday and no longer reads discs

They were stolen from Margate, Kent.

If anyone local could keep a look out if they visit any 2nd hand shops in the area, I would really appreciate it.

Bad news, feel for you and hope you are insured.
Register it on www.immobilise.com and note that TP has a dedicated 'stolen' thread :)

Sorry for you
You can set up alerts on ebay also gumtree

Thanks, I have checked eBay and gummed but will set up alerts.

Camera was insured so will sort insurance forms this evening, just added an extra lock to the door but frame needs replacing.

Luckily my 3 cats seem to be absolutely fine!
Only had the camera a few months, grr

Send a few emails out to second hand dealers and facebook sellers
Chances are it's gone for good but you never know

Check out your local cash converter type shops and local pub, chances are it's someone close bye.

Most insurers accept the fact that victims of burglary find things gone that they didn't realise had been taken for weeks, or sometimes longer, after the event. :)

I know which of my photography gear has been taken now. 70-200 was left behind so I guess they didnt see it.
Same with my flash and 50mm lens. OH had my 150-500 in his camera bag which was also left behind.

TV was also left. None of it makes sense, we're in a 1st floor flat so they had to know we were out.

Bad news Selena, I've shared this via twitter as have a few togs on there, you never know they might get offered some stolen gear

Thank you!

I've added the camera to Immobilise and Stolen Camera Finder, shared on Facebook and I'm checking ebay and gumtree.
I need to send details to the 2nd hand shops but we have loads in the area as well as really busy Facebook selling groups

I am really sorry to hear about your burglary.

It really is worthwhile to think about every little accessory that may have been in the bag. Since being robbed in the summer I have had to repurchase no end of accessories that I didn't think to claim for, such as lens clothes, spare tripod plate, renewable batteries, filters etc.

I hope the people who stole it get what's coming to them!

I didn't have much else in the bag.
I know I had a 32gb and a 16gb SD card, a cleaning cloth and a couple of packs of business cards.

I may have found the laptop but I don't have the serial number. I know I bought it in January and there's a way to check remaining warranty on hp's website.
If the warranty end date on this laptop matches mine then, hopefully, I can get it back and the shop will have the guy on CCTV.

Fingers crossed!
