Wandered into the local "Poundland" yesterday. They had little key-fob TV remote controls for - you've guessed it - £1.
I lost my Nikon ML - L3 infra-red remote some time ago - not surprising really as they are really tiny - so I thought I would try this out with my Nikon D80.
It worked straight out of the packet! Obviously don't know about other camera brands but the chances are it'll work.
Might be a nice little stocking filler for the photographer you love - cheap as chips too.
