Edit My Images
Yes
Just looking for some advice on stock photography sites, I'm interested in trying to sell some of my photo's (only have a couple worthy so far though) but at the moment I'm half way through signing up to I-stock photo and just wondered what the best site is to use.
Better half is a Graphic Designer and seems to think I-Stock is rather good but just looking for some opinions.

Also on the same lines will be going to Donnington park for the Renault World series in Sept and wondering what the copy rights are on images of the cars? I would imagine you can't sell them as they will have sponsership images though?

Correct, and in addition there will probably be a paragraph printed on your admission ticket that will have a non-commercial photography/video disclaimer. In other words you can take pictures for personal use only.

According to wikipedia "The pioneer of microstock photography was Bruce Livingstone, who created iStockPhoto, originally a free stock photo site that quickly became an industry phenomenon. Livingstone sold iStockphoto to Getty Images in February 2006 for $50 million USD."

:agree:

I have to disagree, take a look here at istock's top contributor, 548970 downloads at an average of say $4-5 isn't too bad.

I signed up for iStock and they reject all my aviation submissions. I have asked them why and the reply was a simple no. Thought it was a bit narrow-minded so I closed my account and moved on.

searching through old posts and noticed a link for photographers direct. they dont take submissions from anyone with stuff on microstock sites.ah.
we have stuff on pd ,so that sorts that then.
of course I could submit MY shots to istock.;)?

But iStock keep 80% of that :(

Thats for a base level contributor, as you get more downloads you move up canister levels, and with this you get more % per download. Just takes time though.
