I agree - the cookbook is dead on its arse , and the change of tact is nearly a year old - they could both be unstuck.
 
i don't have one on my laptop ;)
 
There seems to be a single post football related one which could be unstuck.

Maybe a new area for archived stickies?

And the football and e ciggys one and slimming. They'll pop up to the top if anyone ever adds anything so get rid.

to be honest the joke thread could unstick too and the cartoon thread - it would jump to the top every time a new addition was made anyway

(the ecig one could do with being a sub forum really so that they can have different threads about different aspects)

they are too busy up my nose ;)

that aside nowt happens apart from my cursor disappearing, to scroll I have to go to the right side and click on the arrows

I suspect everything will be relooked at when marcel breaks the forum we move to Xen.
 
Tbf T i can kind of see neils point , if we had stickies for every non photographic hobby or interest the whole first page of OOF would be sticky

I can certaibnly see having a thread, but why does it need to be sticky - if its active it will stay near the top by default , if its not then it won't matter if it sinks

IMO stickies should be reserved for forum staff announcements or things of imediate relevance to everyone , not just a single interest group (whether thats vaping, cooking, football or whatever)

Theres no sniping here T (you know me better than that) - i'm just saying that I don't see the need for stickies to be used for things that don't interest a large percentage of the membership

I'm not singling out vaping - the same could be said for say 'fantasy football' or the recipe book or jokes whatever - if people are interested and contribute regularly then the threads will be easily found without being sticky - if they arent contributed to regularly they'd disapear through disinterest (like the recipes for example which were really active when first suggested but have been dead on their arse for months).

Was probably the wrong words to use- i apologize, and wasn't actually directed at anyone, I just don't see a few stickies as an issue that's all

its not really an issue as it stands - i was thinking more about the general principle

currently viewed on a small screen (but not on the app) like my work laptop most of the screen is header and stickies
 
TBH, threads that are busy enough will stay on the front page and near the top anyway. If someone's worried that their favourite threads may vanish, either subscribe to them or keep bumping them (ideally with valid contributions to the threads rather than just "Bump"...)

That's fair enough but if you go back to page one, you actually agreed with it, now you change your mind... like i said if it bothers people then get rid, it's not a matter of life or death.
 
THIS could be unstickied - quite apart from being a one post thread, it should have been seen by all interested parties by now.

I havent changed my mind, If you read back i said i thought it (and indeed any interest that has a large following among forum members) should be a sub forum of OOF not a sticky

If I was admin i'd have no stickies at all except for rules , so that people on even a small screen can see the most active threads as soon as they click in

I'd also have a "non photographic interests" forum with sub forums for any single interest group deemed popular enough so vaping, football, cooking, running whatever would have its own space without needing a sticky.

However as i'm not an admin and never likely to be (unless marcel eats that drugged jaffa cake i sent him *maniacal laughter*) it doesnt really matter what i think
