This is a copy & paste from the ' Holiday Park Action Group ' not validated by me but with 87,700 members 'porky pies ' are soon found out.

2026 site fees for ' Havens ' Craig Tara Holiday park South Ayrshire Scotland.

These are caravans (or groups of) with site fees reflecting the position on site.

Mind boggling, who pays £1,281.00 a month (15,380 per annum)

Totally daft, you wouldn't pay that much for hotels for a normal years holiday, you would have to use it a lot to be worthwhile. You could almost but a small house for that much a month, and have something to show for it.

in spain there is a lot of kickback at caravan parks also people are leaving them in droves with ground rent for even the cheap ones close to 5k euros a year.

We always had a static caravan when we were kids. It was great for my younger brother who has various health issues and a severe learning disability. Due to his various issues a caravan was really the only option if they wanted a holiday.

Eventually though my parents were priced out of it. Firstly the site they were on said that the caravan had to be no more than 10 years old then, the ground fees more than doubled in price. They did consider buying another one but, they then said that for statics they only allowed caravans bought directly from them, and the cheapest one the sold was just under 60k and was already close to the 10 year cut off. In the end they just couldn’t afford it. They were give 14 days to have their caravan removed of the site, when they couldn’t, their caravan was dragged down onto the beach and set on fire. Apparently they can’t do that anymore.

My cousin has one now on a different site and pays 8k a year ground rent plus a load of other extra’s, works out at about 10k a year. At one point not that long ago they were paying just under 4k a year. Their caravan is 11 years old and were told initially that the site allowed caravans up to 15 years old. However now they have changed it to 12 years old. They still owe 34k on their caravan and the people that run the site has offered them 16k for it. If they wanted to sell it elsewhere they won’t allow another company onsite to remove it and want 5k plus haulage costs if it is moved. They are in a similar situation to my parents in that they also have a child with severe health issues that makes holidays elsewhere next to impossible. So they are going to suck it up and finance another new caravan, take the 16k for their old one, and pay of the rest of what is owed. It is a mental situation to be honest.

i think the caravan parks are an 80s thing that is just being wrung out by owners before they go bust, hopefully soon.
