Hi, I have just signed up for this forum in the hope of kick-starting my photography. I have had an EOS400D for about six months and only really got to grips with it on a holiday to Norway from which I have just returned. Wondering about doing an on-line course at http://www.betterphoto.com/home.asp; has anyone out there tried on-line courses and did they work for you please

Hi and welcome!

No personal experience with better photo, but I've heard some good stuff about it. In any case, you'll learn a whole lot on here :)

http://www.betterphoto.com/home.asp - Fixed link :)

From a personal view, I work better with people in front of me teaching me, so I wouldn't go for an online course, but everyone learns differently :)

I've learnt loads on this forum though :D

Edit: Opps... Welcome to the forum

Hi and welcome to the forum. This is the place to learn. There's plenty of expert toggers on here. :)

I did the open university course on digital photography last year and found it quite good. It took me through all the basics, explaining aperture, focal length, effects of shutter speed etc. It also teaches some basic photshop skills via video tutorials on a CD. Also covers a bit about colour, composition etc so all in all it was quite good value for a 12 week course. (It;s course T189 on the OU)

I've since been on a studio photography seminar with Mark Cleghorn which was brilliant and, as Matty says, having that two way conversation can be a terrific way to learn.

I now learn a heck of a lot from reading here and there are some fantastic resources in the tutorials forum that have helped me a lot. I know I can still learn a lot and I'm having fun at the same time. Can't beat that really!

Hi and welcome

hello, I have just registered today on your site. I would like to ask what the best programme for editing/printing photographs is. A relative recommended Serif:help: - anyone got any other views please. Thanks.
