Hello guys,

I hope this is the right place to do this and that you don't mind a 'asking for help' thread from someone completely new - I've only just said hello in the welcome forum.

I'm eager to get started, but severely low on funds - a DSLR will be well out of my reach for now. I'm faced with 2 options, a 2nd hand bridge of some description or using a Pentax P30 I already have (you guys remember 35mm??) probably combined with a negative scanner to keep costs down?

I'm mainly interested in the steam railway behind my house and urban photography - should be mostly stills.
Anyway, I'm not sure on the best route to get out there and start experiencing, but I thought I might find some advice here!

Much thanks in advance :)

*Edit* - Just thought that perhpas 35mm still needs developing before it's put through a scanner?

Try Gumtree, I have found some decent ish DSLRs for quite cheap.

In the Talk Film & Conventional forum, we've never forgotten 35mm ;)

Yes. Have a look in the Film forum as there are a few threads on scanning, where to get film and where to get them developed. If cost is a big issue, Asda will develop the film and scan the negatives to CD for a couple of pounds.
