Hi,
I was pretty keen on photography in my teens and early twenties and then it fell by the wayside due to life becoming a little more interesting than I would have liked for around 20 years. Then I got seriously involved in music which is another passion which developed in my younger years and continues to be a big part of my life. During the last 15 years or so I've owned a variety of all in one point and shoot cameras and got some reasonable pictures. Each time I bought a new camera I went for something way more flexible than the previous model. In the summer of this year I saw an offer in store while out buying something totally unrelated to photography. It was a Canon 1300D bundle, camera, two lenses, bag ect. I went for it and within a week I added another couple of lenses and got a bit immersed in learning the basics and trying to get some good shots. A month later I bought a 760D and got further immersed in learning as much as I could and going out specifically to take pictures. I got some very pleasing results using both bodies and over time the ratio of good images I'm getting has surpassed the number of shots which are not much use to anyone. I liking photographing a wide variety of subject matter especially wildlife and nature in general, though I will snap at anything which catches my eye. I've been adding more lenses along the way as well as a decent tripod and filters ect. Just before Christmas I bought a new 7Dmk2 and have only had a chance to start learning to use over the last few days. That's pretty much where I'm at so I decided to join a forum to get a few tips and maybe at some point share something useful that I've picked up through my own experiences. I find it inspiring to see what others get by way of results as seeing something done really well is a good way to put one's own attempts into perspective and provides something to aim for. That's basically my motivation for joining this form.
Thanks for reading
Regards
Tim
