Starter for a meal

Bed of rocket with cracked black pepper and olive oil
Round of puff pastry, precooked (prick the centres to stop them from rising) with caramelised red onion chutney in the centre, topped with bacon and goat's cheese. Works great without the cheese too.

Always goes down a treat.

sounds interesting.

Lynton telling my hubby he is having "scotch " for a starter is being far far too nice:lol: i doubt the parents of the 3 8 year olds and the 14 year old would be very impressed:lol: but may shut the buggers up...

Very briefly for you Terri. Just next to the big Quote button is a smaller one with " on it, as you find quotable posts, click on this button for each one. When you've selected all the quotes you want, use the Reply button (just under the final post on each page, to the left) which will bring up a box with all your selected posts in it.

Happy munching and give P my regards - I bet you're counting the hours (if not minutes!!!).

thank you Nod now i know. and yes counting down.

Well I have this simple starter that is pure paradise when eaten... but its garlic.

So you need 1 full garlic head for each person.

20 heads say... leave them bound up and just cut a head slice off each, like you would do when making Halloween pumpkns.

180 degrees hot ready oven.

Pile sea salt and lots of butter on each cut surface and stick the head back on like a hat.

Half an hour or so till the insides are all soft and yummy.

Serve with cocktail sticks or smallest forks so that the little pods af garlicy sweetness can be easily picked out from the centre circle.

Believe me when I say you've not tasted garlic this good before...they will be drooling for more.:love::
