started late, but doing the 52 :)

Thanks for your coments Kev. Any opinions are more that welcome.

I agree twisted is a bit naff, it's more of a sketch of a place I really like and think would make a good photo subject, need to go back and do it justice.

With the divided shot, I nearly put my shoulder out holding the camera behind my back. Things we do for photos.

Hiya Sam,

Wow you are racing along with your project, well done you.

I like the re-shoot of your accommodation shot.

Had to chuckle at you supping vino from the bottle in your Empty shot .... and by looks of it there is an empty bottle behind you too :D

Like the 'wrong' photo .... it has a bit of a grungy feel to it.

Not too keen on the 'tropical' photo .... it is a bit too grainy and OOF for me (sorry)

Power is a fab shot with great focus.

For 'promise' I didn't make the connection without reading the text.

'Twisted' looks more 'abstract' to me than twisted.

Well done though for making such a effort to catch up.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Thanks for the comments Dawn, I pretty much agree with you.

The pineapple was a very rushed shot, taking a pineapple from the kitchen I work in, up to my hotel room at 12pm, nocking out a few shots.
Put them on the computer, picked one with very shallow dof (focus was on the base of leaves) and tried to make a kind of abstract pineapple pic look weirder with a load of grain added, just to look a bit different.
Not to everyones taste, but I need some weird shots in my 52.

Glad you like the empty shot, didn't drink both those bottles in the same night, still had to work the camrea :)

The 52 is a great challenge, enough new themes to keep things interesting and if I don't really produce a great pic for one there's always next week. Keeps the creative juices flowing.

Week 23.

Broken.

Broken. by ohmytao, on Flickr

On a walk to get crickets, I noticed this dumped TV, definitely broken, so to give it a better background I moved it across the road to the red bins. Done. (I put the tv back afterward).

Week 24.

Bright.

Bright. by ohmytao, on Flickr

Took this in the summer, just sat on the bench watching the world go by, about half an hour later I noticed the long shadow of the bench and myself, it was a bright sunny day. So took the shot, I quite like it.

Cheers Tina. I shot them out of sequence but I wanted to post them in order.

Week 25.

Rescue.

Rescue. by ohmytao, on Flickr

I did this tonight. It didn't quite work as I'd hoped, but after having the water go up my nose in my ears, my mouth, and stinging my eyes, no way was I trying it again tonight. I'd like to have another go but not in water I'd had a bath in.
Thanks 52 for the opportunity to express myself, :cuckoo:

Week 26.

Sensual.

Sensual. by ohmytao, on Flickr

Shockingly rubbish picture. Not alot of sensuality going on in my life so a poor attempt at an attack on consumerism via the idea of being able to 'feel good' (as written on the bag) by spending some money.
Oh well onwards and upwards, it can only get better.

Week 27.

Elaborate.

Elaborate. by ohmytao, on Flickr

This is a ceiling light fitting I saw on one of my late night wanders around the hotel I was working in, it was turned off and the hall was poorly lit so the original photo wasn't very good anyway, but I did like the shapes so had a play. It is elaborate, undeniably.

week 28

Celebrate.

Celebrate. by ohmytao, on Flickr

Another shot from the same hotel. Part of it used to be an old boys boarding school, and they had their own chapel (wher they used to celebrate God). It's now a function room and has mood lighting that changes colour all the time.
I shot this at night so its just lit by the mood lighting.

Week 29.

Smell.

Smell. by ohmytao, on Flickr

It certainly conjours up the idea of different smells. Taken in my hotel room again.
I quite like the shot especially the colours and bokeh comming from outside the window.

Week 31.

Wind.

Wind. by ohmytao, on Flickr

Driving past Dunstable downs today I thought I'd park up and see if there was anything I could photograph.
Lots of gliders out, and bright sun in front of me, only had a 50mm 1.4, so got a couple of shots I was happy with. I thought this one was quite interesting with the glider and birds also riding the wind.

Week 32.

Evolution.

Evolution. by ohmytao, on Flickr

Had a bit of a weird idea whilst knocking up a baked potato. I thought it looked a bit like a hatching egg sack, of some strange alien creature, possibly another next step in evolution.

Week 33.

Record.

Record. by ohmytao, on Flickr

A simple one for week 33. Going for record in terms of digital music, ipod, headphones and laptop.
I like the headphone reflection.

Week 35.

Blur.

Blur. by ohmytao, on Flickr

Spinning round in circle, holding camera at arms length.
I never said I was sophisticated. (Note to self, no shots of my headphones in next years 52).
At night with just room light on.

Week 36.

Time.

Time. by ohmytao, on Flickr

I bought a guitar this year hoping to learn to play, but I never seem to find the time.
I like the streetlamp visable through curtains.

Week 37.

Mix.

Mix. by ohmytao, on Flickr

So I got together a few pick and mix sweets (not very original I know), and used my bedside table and lamp to light them. Wasn't very happy with result but this was the best.
My lighting needs work.

Week 38.

Fun.

Fun. by ohmytao, on Flickr

The things I do for fun. I really enjoy the challenge of the 52, and keep a piece of paper with notes on in my camera bag, I also like to keep paper records of my workouts, so made an image including my paper records of fun times.
I especially like how paper gets dog eared and tatty over time.

Week 39.

Volume.

Volume. by ohmytao, on Flickr

Shot of my music system, cd and headphones (aaarrgggg again )
Likeing the shadows, reflections, light and grain on this photo.

Hi ya Sam...crikey I've missed a load of weeks...sorry :'(

Wierd....like it...several people I know keep snakes & seem to really enjoy them .Would have prefered a bigger close-up type image to see more detail in him/her though ?

Elaborate....brilliant image...love the colors & the shapes...bigger , maybe on an acrylic base & on the wall

Work...wicked looking knive's there...maybe a bigger shot to see the whole of them ?

Tropical...as per Dawn...less grain , more of the pineapple in focus...but like you say , the 52 is about what you want

Record...like the mono & the reflection

Twisted....maybe more abstract to me than twisted but really like this shoot...can't put my finger on why though

Look forward to seeing some more...well done on joining late & catching up though:thumbs:

Thanks for your comments Lynne, it's always nice to have feedback.

I would like to plan my shots a bit more next year.

More importantly I want to subscribe to a few more peoples 52s and keep up to date with making comments on their pictures.
I've realised how important it is to get feedback and criticism from other people. Even if it's a simple observation, or like/dislike.

Week 25 Rescue: A great idea! In execution (sorry:lol:) it needs a little care, framing has you too close to the top, I think more central needed.

Week 26 Sensual: Hmm, not such a great idea ;)

Week 27 Elaborate: These are certainly elaborate and the post processing makes them even more so, not to my taste but on theme

Week 28 Celebrate: This i like but it looks a little soft to my eye. Intriguing though, I want more!

Week 29 Smell: Gross!

Week 30 Weird: I can't see weird...ok snakes are seen as such by some, would like to see more of the snake.

Week 31 Wind: I can see teh relationship but the shot doesn't work for me - sorry

Week 32 Evolution: I suppose another view of it would be we used to bake potatoes in the ashes of the fire but now we wrap in foil! Doesn't work as an egg sac for me, maybe I lack the imagination

Week 33 Record: This I like

Week 34 Work: This is spot on. Maybe you can tell me how to keep my knives sharp, never had a decent knife...

Week 35 Blur: It is definitely blurred

Week 36 Time: Life is too short by far. I'd like to have a bit of fill light here.

Week 37 Mix: A small torch could help, a little light paint?

Week 38 Fun: Certainly an original on this theme! Good use of dof.

Week 39 Volume, I have yet to do this one myself, thanks for reminding me :$ On theme

Is that all now?

Week 46.

Living.

Living. by ohmytao, on Flickr

It's hard to capture what it can be like living in hotel rooms, took this shot of an evening and thought it looked quite suitable.

Week 47.

Light.

Light. by ohmytao, on Flickr

Hotel room lamp, tried to make it a bit more personal with the reflection in the stand of the book I was reading at the time.

Week 48.

Cute.

_MG_2285.jpg by ohmytao, on Flickr

Wanted to take a picture of my mums dog but I was working. Found this very small cherry tomato, thought it looked a bit cute, took the photo of it in my hand for scale.

Hi Sam, what an excellent catch up! I really do like all of the pics, they are on theme and very well taken, the ones below stood out for me. The tomato one made me smile

Week 44.

Pair.

Pair. by ohmytao, on Flickr

One of may favourite shots, my pair of boas.

Week 47.

Reshoot / Rapid

Reshoot / Rapid. by ohmytao, on Flickr

Shot at the same time as the original, but I liked this one too.
