Start up problem on Canon 70d

Hi,

When I start up my Canon 70d. It flicks from manual focus for a second and then flicks to whatever focus mode I was in when I turned it off. The lens is set to auto. (Canon 18-135 EMS)

Is this normal?

try taking the lens off and turn the camera on, you could try a full reset of the camera in the menu settings i will have a look see if my 70d is the same its been yonks since i have used it

Have you tried cleaning the lens contacts?

Is the camera set in one of the Custom modes on the dial?
