Stardust's 52 week challenge 2024

Week 22 - Critters
These little guys are spindle ermine moth caterpillars. They had taken over a tree in my village (and the surrounding bushes). I spent an hour over 3 trips at the weekend trying to get a decent shot of them - they were moving around a lot as weren't attached to the ground. Unfortunately not the competition entry shot I was after but I still love this image, and I'm so glad I went down there as when we drove past on Tuesday this group were no longer there. Believe they don't 'transform' into moths until end of June so hoping they're still ok.

Good shot... it kind of makes my skin crawl!

Maybe they have disappeared because they have entered the chrysalis phase?

I'm hoping so and not that someone's been down there and done something to them - a lot of the villagers didn't like them.

Week 23 - vegetable (+ tech - minimalist)
One of the better kinds as it doesn't go off :ROFLMAO: (this is our cats catnip carrot)

Nice shiny Dobbins :)

They don't look real - did you dial the sharpening up to max?
On this edit yes, it was one of my presets as for some reason I like the sharpened look haha, I also did a black and white version on a black background which I've entered into a comp. No idea how it'll do but we have to try these things don't we.

Week 26 - Natural Abstract
I'm never too sure what counts as 'abstract' so hoping this will be acceptable as I have helped the sun out a little bit :ROFLMAO:

I like the abstract shot. What lens and aperture is that? I've always been a fan of unusual and different bokeh when the whole world goes mad for pure cream.

Snappers: Sometimes a bit of over processing really works... as this proves!
Abstract... simple yet very effective.

Thanks all.

@firewireguy , this was taken on the Sigma Art 18mm-105mm lens with a f4.0 aperture. It's def one of my favourite lenses and I'd whole heartedly recommend it.

Catch up time again. Been havign a few weeks so taken me some time to get the image for week 27
