Star trails

18-70 at 18mm. Shoot wide-open, ISO800, 20s exposures. Then use the software from Startrails to put the 130 individual shots together. Doing a single 45 minute exposure will give you huge problems with noise and light pollution. Stacking images will reduce the noise.
 
Avoid condensation by sealing your camera inside a bag containing air the same temperature as the camera is acclimatized to (ie warm). This way, any condensation forms on the bag instead of the camera as the air and camera gradually equalize to the new environment. Problem with this is that it takes a while - take a flask!
 
Wether i do 45mins or 20 seconds, i get condensation ruining the shot :( I think its too cold outside to do this kind of photography tonight ?

Buy a Dew heater and controller ....... or a hair drier.

Doesn't work in this situation. Think about your car on a cold morning. That's had all night to acclimatise, but it's still covered in dew or frost.
