Just watched the film and its well worth a watch. I was so into my grunge rock music at the time, which blow up at the same time as rap, i did not fully appreciate how significant it was at the time. NWA's Staight Outta Compton whether you like it or not has to be in the top 10 must important albums of the last 30 years.

I heard the album for the first time when i was at secondry school in the early 90's and loved it. I was quite a big fan of NWA as well as Public Enemy. I quite fancy seeing the film, but think it will be something I go and see on my own as I dont think it will interest the Missus.

Still remember most of the lyrics from the openning track on the album ...

Purchased Straight Outta Compton on vinyl in 1989 and later on CD, one of my fave albums and I also come from a (I won't say that word) a U.S. Alt rock background and you'll be surprised how much that album is loved in the alt rock scene.

Interestingly I just watched a watchmojo YT video for the top 10 most important Hip Hop albums and it only came in at number 5 or so. 36 Chambers was No 1.

I really enjoyed the movie, I Was a bit too young to appreciate NWA however was well into the rap scene by the time Dre dropped the Chronic.
