Spyder 2 Suite

After selling my Huey last week, I'm seriously thinking of going for a Spyder.

After looking at these I notice on the AJ Purdy site that they sell a Spyder 2 Suite which is described as;

The printer profiling in addition to the monitor calibration seems like a good tool, but I was wondering if anyone can share some personal experience, either with the Spyder 2, or the PrintFix Plus that this is coupled with.

Spyder2Pro is the version I use and it's incredible (on both the Mac & Samsung screens I use). Huuuge difference between the best I could achieve without it. I've not used PrintFIX myself as my printers have their own ICC profiles as part of the install discs but I understand it requires you to download a test chart, print it on your printer using your preferred paper, then make adjustments to the calibration as you compare print to screen. I'm guessing that your printer will already have the ICC profiles for every type of variant and paper (if you keep the brands the same) so may not be that useful.

Here's a review you might like to read. It looks like a profile editing program that let you adjust the standard profile. May not be the most sophisticated program on the market, but it may help trim the profile to give you a better print/screen match. If you get it let us know how well it works

I have Printfix Pro. It didnt make a vast difference from when i adjusted the monitor by eye but printer profiling is a lot better especially if you use third party inks
