Now settled eventually and enjoying life on the East coast :)

I'm thinking about a shooting trip to Spurn Point next week

I've borrowed the longest lens I could (Tamron 70-300 VC) Not exactly massive focal length, but will it suffice?

Haven't been for years so wondering if access is still available, and any tips welcome from anyone that may have been recently

Spurn point looks good - still learning about Yorkshire!

Ah Tony. Just as I come back to where it all started, you up and leave!! Mind you we make the odd trip to Filey so might tie that in with a visit?

Hope you're enjoying not working - you've taught the youngn's well - take away tonight I reckon!

Catch up soon I hope!

Point your lens at any bush and all of a sudden you will have many friends, when it's good it's very good especially if the wind is from the east.
Be prepared to meet some of the strangest twitchers in the UK along with togs that will just walk up and spook every bird they come across.

Thanks Neil. It'll be a good intro to wildlife but no doubt I will be dipping into my pockets again if I like it.

Always glad to catch up on what I'm not missing :) Have PM'd you my new address and landline number

As with all wildlife you cant just turn up and say smile please. I am sure you will enjoy the day if you adopt the "its just great to be out "attitude.
As Neil says it can be very good there. But no guarantees. Such is life.
