Anyone watched the new Springwatch today?

I normally love it but with Chris Packham presenting I turned over fairly quickly. I was never a massive fan of Bill Oddie but I see now how much better he was.
It's fair to say that I won't bother watching anything other than the parts that Simon King is presenting. It's a real shame.
 
Give it chance, this programmes about the nature not the nauses. That Gos made it a very enjoyable show. Packham knows his stuff regardless of his presentation skills.
 
he was ok, he was a good tv presenter back in the day..
 
Much better suited to presenting kids' tv if you ask me.
 
Bill apparently asked for time out on this one and is, according to the BBC, welcome to return for Autumn watch, or any future 'watches' - though he did twitter [and then had it deleted for saying too much] that he was fired. But you didn't hear that from me.... :suspect:

The wildlife content is excellent, all except Simon King irritate me.
Kate Humble seems to giggle her way through the programme.
 
Watched it last night did not think that Chris did to bad mind you who dressed him that shirt he at on was dire. Am not a lover of Simon King think he just goes on just saying the same thing.
 
apparently people complained that bill oddie was sexist with his comments, probably was a load of lesbian feminists that complained..../runs
 
I actually prefer Chris, Bill is a bit of an old grump really. He's apparently suffering from a bout of depression at the moment (which is why they all wished him well at the start) and I don't know if its because of this that he isn't presenting or if its not presenting that caused it.
And I will not hear a word about the fragrant Miss Humble, she's nearly as lovely as Kirsty Young.....:love:

I've watched it again and the one thing I disliked about Bill Oddie was his domineering attitude to presenting that left Kate rather subdued, this in mind I'm actually going to reform my opinion and say, whilst Chris may not be the best presenter, as a duo they real work. My opinion has been changed!

Good for you. I'm getting into it now but just want them to concentrate a bit less on the local bird-life and start looking at things like that independant cameraman showed us. Badgers killing thumpers:eek: that's a new one on me.
