Hello,

Two queries regarding the Spot healing brush.

Firstly, when using the tool on portraits and say tidying up spots, i find that even using content aware or proximity match that i can see a halo around the area that has been replaced, any suggestions?

Secondly, again using portraits i use the SHB to lean up loose hairs around the head and on the face, but i find again using either Proximity match and content aware that it doesnt do a clean heal. so trying to describe if i have a high key shot and cleaning up loose hairs on the white background, then i find it fills the selected area with hair from the head.

hard to describe both the above but if anyone know what mean and can assist it would be a great help.

Thanks

what "hardness" have you got the brush set to? It may be you've got it 100% 'hard'. Back it off so its got a more soft/fluffy edge and try? Also set the size of the brush head to only just larger than the blemish you are trying to remove.

Again check the size of the head of your brush, as small as possible without being too small is probably best. Cloning might be better in this case if its picking up from areas you dont want, with the clone you can set the source pixels but is more fiddly.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable might come along and help you.

thanks will have a look at the hardness settings

any further advice is also appreciated
