Yes
Does anyone else find this advert a little condescending? Also, I read somewhere that animal charities receive more money per year than human related charities. What's up with that?

Don't know which advert you're referring to, is it a TV advert? As for animal charities getting the most money, well certainly in the country animal welfare is very high in peoples' priorities. Being heavily involved in the horse world and having had pets all my life, 95% of anything I give tends to go to the animal charities.

Aye, the TV advert. I've got nothing against animal charities. It's just I find it a bit strange that people put animals before humans.

Considering how many animal charities exist versus non animal charities I'd be interested in the source of that information. I expect, for example, childrens charities are excluded. It sounds more like a figure made up by an organisation that needs donations (Maybe I'm a cynic, but I remember one organisation - name escapes me - doing exactly this in either late 2007 or early 2008).

Plus, I would imagine the fact that most animal charities are doing their best to fix the crap that humans do to animals would influence peoples decisions somewhat.

I'll find the source. I think I read it in The Economist, but not entirely sure.

Go one on then, as I am in an antagonistic mood
why is it that we have a
Royal society for the protection of animals
and "only" a
National society for the protection of children

Why not have a read of the history of both organisations and you will realise the only difference is a name.
Queen Victoria gave permission for the SPCA to be called RSPCA in 1840 and she was also became a patron of the NSPCC in about 1889
