Splashed the cash, non photographic kit.

(y)

Is that the `Steve McQueen` ?

Lovely but too complicated for me. I'd never know what time it is. I like watches like me, simple.

I actually really like that!

Not my cup of tea I'm afraid, but I'm curious to know what the mostly black with some white oblong bars are on the outside of the dial are for.
They're the five minute markers. I don't think they're black or white, they're silver I reckon, it's just the way the light is catching them. Not my cup of tea either tbh, but everyone's tastes are different.

Well done Martin!
My wifes and my shared philosophy is 'Life's too short to get to the end and say 'what if...'
Get what you desire whilst you can.
Its maybe not to everyone's taste, but if it brings you pleasure, then go for it

There is a cracking version out there in the Gulf Oil Colours.
I saw it a few years back and went ooooooo

The black/white bars are indeed silver, hadn't noticed the change in colour due to reflection? I've looked at several versions over the years including the Gulf model and versions with black or cream faces, it would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing so I'll accept comments from all sides, positive or negative, ie Canon v Nikon anyone? although SWMBO might not have been so easy convinced if I wanted to pay retail.

Here it is the Gulf Edition..

No sorry, the crown is on the other side on mine, and marked as a Heuer as was the model McQueen wore in the film Le Mans.

The Gulf one for me, IF I had the choice. But that is a classic beauty and a Petrol heads dream watch, IF you don't like it you don't understand its allure....Nice Watch OP:cool:

I could never be trusted with one.

Ah right its a reissue of the original, I understand.

Posh watches are a mystery to me... So roughly how much does a returned one of these cost, if you don't mind saying? Same as a 5D3? Or...

Always like the retro look of this watch....out of budget for me unfortunately. Congratulations!
For now I'll stick with my 1969 proof/proof Seiko Pogue until I can afford a vintage Speedmaster

Love the Monaco! One of the few Tag watches I'd like to own tbh. That and a Carrera likely.

I've an Omega Seamaster just now but looking to upgrade at some point. That said, I've been looking to upgrade for about five years now [emoji1]

Looking at Google, looks like one of these would set you back £3-4 grand.

Well a new one is 4k looking on tiinternet for a best price-ish.

So a 3 month old one you might get 10% off it depends how it came back. Some jewelers offer a return window and it may simply have come back in that way.

Wow.. That is some watch! Still, the amount we spend on kit, so what!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Just call me a lucky b then, as I have a carrera too, and an 80's diver and a sports model too, mixed in with a couple of other makes.
New retail on the is £4450, me, I paid sub £3k for it, and £22 to add it to the house insurance. Don't smoke or gamble so it means I can afford to treat myself now and then. Wife would like a new sink basin in the kitchen as someone who shall remain nameless stained it, I won't grudge her that.
