Hi all,

So I have this situation.

:help::help::help:

There is a spider that keeps hiding inside my car side mirror, and whenever I'm not there he comes out, makes a spider web then goes back inside my mirror...

He doesn't even sit in his web!

So I've been to a lot of car washes since he's been there, but the annoying little thing keeps coming out the night after my car wash and makes another spider web, then again, hides inside the mirror.

Now I don't know why he is wasting his energy or whatever making a web that I never see him use O.o. :bang:

And I don't mean a small web, it literally goes from my mirror to the back door handle...

Any idea's how I can get rid of this annoying little spider? I've tried squirting a hose into the mirror but he still survives.

It's literally like he is trying to annoy me. xD

Thanks :D :D :D

You need a trained fly (or a caught one!) and a vacuum cleaner. Place the fly in the web and wait for Boris to come out for his/her breakfast then suck it up.

Be aware that nature abhors a vacuum though and any appropriate home will soon be reoccupied by a new tenant!

He might be a lucky spider, if you evict him from his home your car might not be so lucky, beakdowns punctures who knows what. Live and let live;);)

Sqirt THIS behind the mirror.

:gag: Ten quid nearly to get rid of something that really ain`t doing no harm :cuckoo::cuckoo: I keep the ones that live inside my mirror`s, they wave their legs frantically at me if it is not safe to overtake

I never understand why people want to kill spiders :shrug:. I have them in my car mirrors too. No issues. Leave the bloody thing alone!!!!

I love wing mirror spiders, think I have had one in every car I have ever owned. Leave him be. :)

Leave the poor little beggar be.

And the little spider is;
Ruining your paintwork
making faces at you as you drive
the strength of the web is preventing you getting in the car

If none of the above then let him/her live in piece

Just live with it.

Many years we had one inside the car that went on holiday with us from London to NW Scotland - hope it enjoyed the midges.

Hold on and I'll look it up on the web for you . . .

. . . did you see what I did there?

You need to put a bird in there, then if that doesn't work add a cat etc :D

Mirror spiders learn not to sit on their webs.
One on mine did it once, but a trip up the M6 taught him not to do it again.

My mirror spider is a brave soul, on the way home from work today he was surfing his web like a pro. Just shy of 60, and he out there, holding it steady.

I'm not fond of spiders, but he can stay.

Since this is a photo forum, here's mine out doing a damage assessment after the trip to work.

The local spiders seem to perfer the wife's car more than mine, ironically she's the one that gets seriously freaked out by spiders.

One was really ambitious the other morning and tried to catch me with a line spanning 5-6ft from the car to the neighbour's fence

The other place they seem to like on our cars are the rear screen wipers.

I love it when my mirror spiders come out to get the ash I've just flicked onto their web just as I'm about to get on the motorway. You can see them spinning around and almost hear them going "wheeeeeeeeeee"

I'm petrified of spiders though, can't go in a room with a spider in it. My mirror spiders stop me from smoking as I can't open my window sometimes if they're having a wander out

My daughter had a young rain spider - the adults are far too large - living in her offside wing mirror a few years ago. It seemed quite happy and she didn't mind.

I also remember a newspaper article in South Africa, about someone who stopped at a petrol station in Limpopo and opened the bonnet to check the coolant. He found a black mamba, which is one of the most dangerous snakes in Africa, curled up in the engine compartment. I like snakes, but mambas...........not at close range!
