I have posted this here as I can't get a good enough shot to show you, but I've found a small spider in my bathroom (approx 0.5cm including legs). It is red which is why I'm so intrigued.

It's not a 'blood' spider as it's too big and a darker shade of red. It has a large abdomen which is pointy at the back, and what looks like a flat circular torso (not sure on the right term).

It maybe common, but I've never seen one before and wondered if anyone could help...? :thinking:

If it was its a Woodlouse Spider. Very common and nothing to worry about. They can bite but rarely do and and although a bite can be slightly irritating, its far from dangerous.

If it was one of those it was a baby as it's abdomen wasn't yellowy like that, but the rest of it looks like it!

I don't mind spiders unless they invade my personal space without my say so!

I did plan to put it on some white paper to see if I could get a pic (highly unlikely as my lens isn't good enough for macro) but when I caught it I realised it could move a lot faster than expected so I chickened out!!

P.S Steve, if I saw that happen I'd be sleeping on the couch unless I found it and got it out the house!!
 
Haven't a clue what the spider is but get one of these.

I bought my daughter one & now Me & Mrs G get left alone at night ;)
