Hello, I have managed to set it up ok, I am still hardwired into it as I don't have a wirelss adaptor on pc yet, but my family can all log on ok from their respective rooms.
I understand the webpage set up etc and can make it innacessable by putting the firewall on ( i think thats what I do) but I would like to be able to allow family to connect only by using the password, so as to prevent outsiders using it.
Is there something I need to do when setting it up ie. a windows wizard thing and using a pen drive to transfer settings to all laptops ?
 
Are you talking about setting a password for wireless or wired, as to add password for wireless is relatively simple. If you have already logged into the router then you'll understand what I am talking about.

First you need to log into the router, generally done through a web browser most routers use 192.168.0.1

Once logged in goto wireless settings and set a wireless key, then when someone tries to connect to your wireless network they will be required to enter a password and only the people who are given the password will be able to connect to your network.
 
Well I found my way and the router gave me a key to use but when applied, I still can't connect via the laptops. Will take security off for now so they can use their lappys and delve a liyyle deeper later.
