So here's an "interesting" quirk one of my speedlights has started doing.
Randomly (roughly every three or four shots it changes the white balance to roughly between 2000K - 3400K which shows the image on the back of the camera (and imported RAW file) as quite blue. An easy fix with RAW files but very odd and not great when people ask to see the image and it looks like I've done a portrait of the Blue Man Group.
At least once in an evening of use it'll flip to the other end of the scale and shoot a single image at 50,000K with a tint of -150 (very green image)
Thankfully the flash (A Yongnuo 600EX-RT) is relatively new and can/will be returned as faulty. Neither of my other Yongnuo flashes have done this and neither does the other 600EX-RT flash I've got.
Also tried new batteries, freshly charged batteries, different lenses, standing on one leg, various lighting conditions, indoors, outdoors, paying worship to Khonshu, and various camera settings.
Has anyone else had this issue?
As I mentioned I'll be sending the flash back to Amazon and getting it replaced.
(Image added to illustrate the blue-ness. SOTC RAW file exported with standard sharpness applied on export to JPEG)
