Hi all

I have got a SB-700 speed light that I am quite new to using, I am currently using the TTL function however the shutter speed will only set to 60/1. is there any other settings I can use to change the shutter speed whilst still using the flash?

Many thanks

Ash

Hi Rapidrat

I was just looking at speeds upto around 500/1 that should be sufficient enough for the majority of shoots that I take, unfortunately it didn't come with a manual

thanks for your response

At a guess you are shooting in Aperture Priority and somewhere in the menu settings you've got 1/60th selected as minimum shutter speed.

I'd suggest learning to use M mode for flash - it gives you far more control over the ambient light (and flash for that matter).

The max sync speeds for the D800 are 1/320th (on camera speedlight) and a theoretical 1/250th for OCF - HSS excepted.

Yes demilion you're spot on, I spend most of my time on aperture priority, I have however dabbled in full manual mode so will give it a go next time, thanks for the help guys

Many thanks
