Spec. Me a new custom built editing PC ***UPDATE*** Started the build

my god what an ugly case (sorry).

nice spec though :D

No need to be sorry :D it's really not the best looking case but it is exceedingly functional

Glad that you like the spec  with the minor addition's I plan on making in the near future it should do me for a very long time currently I plan on backing up via external drives but I'm thinking of adding in a second 3TB Hot Swap drive and using that for back up with a 3rd 3Tb that will get swapped out every couple of weeks so that there is always an off site backup and then when the master drive is full I'll retain two identical drives and format the 3rd ready to start the process over again :D

 the funny thing is the case can take up to 15 fans
My cases can take a shedload of fans too (it's the best way to ensure good ventilation). I just prefer not to fit them - I think I'm becoming a silent PC evangelist...

See I'm not all that fussed about a little bit of fan noise, so long as the expensive bit's keep cool hence also being liquid cooled, truth be told I know very little about all the tech side of things...all I know is this machine is specked to be much more powerful than I need, this should hopefully see me being able to use it the foreseeable future, and the reality is it has cost me less than I've spent on off the shelf machines in the last 4 years and I fully expect it to last for a lot longer...thought there will be some updates

And most of the components in it come with 3-5 year warranty's as opposed to a 1 year warranty you get when you buy a dell or whatever from PC World :bang:

I spend all day (and quite a bit of the evening) in a 3.5m x 3.5m room with 4, sometimes 5, PCs in. ANY noise from the two PCs in the living room or from the one in the bedroom and the boxes means they get 0 GAF.

Fan noise matters to me ;) :D

I couldn't do that  what do you mean by "0 GAF"

Oh that's nice, I've actually got a card reader to be fitted to the computer that as well as doing it primary function also shows the machine running temperature and can adjust the fans accordingly :)

girlfriend acceptance factor?

I get it

girlfriend acceptance factor?
Yup... got it in one...

If they made a noise, they wouldn't be where they are now.

I couldn't do that
It's fine when you have quiet PCs ;) (unless you don't like staring at the same 4 monitors day in and day out...)

Well this is my first post on the forum with the new beast of a machine and boy am I loving it :D :woot:

A few tweeks to get it just right for now but its running like a deamon from power up to CS6 ready to rock and roll in under 10 seconds
