I need to purchase another monitor, something around 22/23 inch. I had a Dell 2209wa before. The first one went tits up just inside the warranty, in all fairness they replaced it but only with a refurb, and I was told at the time that if that one goes wrong they would not be able to do anything. So here I am again, I am looking at an IPS with something around 2-5ms response. I will mostly be using it for Photoshop, any streaming I do is connected direct to the Samsung in the front room anyhow. I have been looking at some of the LG back lit IPS monitors, does anybody have any experience of these? A budget of around £200 is what I prepared to pay, so forget the all singing high end stuff :D

If you can go to about £230 I'd recommend the Dell U2412M. I got one recently and am very impressed with it. IPS and plenty of screen real estate but not too massive. Got mine from Amazon.

Sorry Jim, I would not touch a Dell again with yours let alone mine, but thanks for the advise

Unless you game on the display, your requirement of 2-5ms is irrelevant.
Supposing an Apple Cinema Display isn't going to entice you, then I'd suggest if Dell have burned their bridges with you, to look at Asus' offerings.

Recently bought a Dell U2412M to replace an ancient 2001FP. I use it alongside a wide gamut U2410 which is double the price and it compares very well. Calibrates very well too.

I bought it from www.pcbuyit.co.uk which I would thoroughly recommend. 3yr on-site pixel perfect guarantee which I can personally vouch for. The U2410 was a brand new replacement for a U2408 which developed a fault just under the 36 months of the warranty, replacement arrived the next working day direct from Dell. Can't fault that.
