Spec me a digibox

Hi all

I'm looking to buy a 2nd hand Digibox for Freesat use. Looking on the auction site, there are number of different boxes of different ages available. Can anyone recommend me a good 2nd hand box that provides a good performance-per-pound ratio?

You can buy a new one for less then £20 from asda. Cheap but does the job.

Check out your local Lidl shop, they could well still have freesat boxes in stock at about £40.

Are you sure that's a freesat box and not a freeview box?


Regardless, I think I'm after a Sky one I think, so that with a £20 viewing card I can then get the FTV channels such as C4 and 5.

I seem to remember that the ones to go for are Panasonics, Pace, Sony, and some of the earlier Grundigs. Avoid the Amstrads. DigitalSpy is well worth a browse through.

I think a Pace 430N might be the way forward. Seem to go for about £40 inc del.

The Sony one I got (although not for free use) is totally pants and keeps crashing all the time. Pace seem about the best imo
