Spear trouble

My dad left an 18 foot spear at my grans and its my job to shift it, I was going to tape up the end and walk home with it but the local plod say this would be illegal, normally I would just go ahead and do it but my gran wont let me (im 27 grrrr!!). It wont fit in the car nor the van I have access too so im not sure what to do with it. Its got to travel about 6 miles :bang::bang:

I have tried to sell it with a collection only but everyone thats interested faces the same problem.

Anyone got any ideas?

My dad brought it home from Africa in 1960 as hand luggage, bet you couldnt do that nowadays :shrug:

From what I remember with Air rifles, you can carry them in public as long as there is no possible way you can fire them. I would imagine if the pointy-end is securely covered then you shouldn't have a problem


(cut out a circle from plywood & paint it to look like a crossing-lollypop :D)
 
Its longer than the car and the car cant have a roof rack as its a convertable.

I was thinking of covering it in cardboard but im screwed if it rains and cant stand it if i do that.

guns ( all ) can be carried in public as long as they are suitably covered
( purpose made case) rifles should also have the bolt removed and kept separate
Maybe a length of drain pipe or other suitable "tube" place spear in side
and cap off the ends.
Roof down on car and slide it in I will just look like a length of pipe from B&Q's etc

If you stick it through your leg, then walk home with it, surely you could argue that you're not actually carrying a dangerous weapon but are infact wounded and walking home to seek medical attention.

Maybe not.

Wrap the sharp end in cotton wool and say its for cleaning your pet elephants ears?
 
Divert a marathon past both addresses and join in, wearing Zulu fancy dress. Don't forget the spear!

Brilliant! But if you played your cards right you could get a lift in an ambulance...

then again, it would probably turn out to be a police car instead. I think you're probably right with the "maybe not"
