Hi
Looking to pick up a couple of spare batteries for my 1dmk11n
Np-e3
Don't need to be genuine canon items, but just wondered if anyone knows where I can get some from, as in trusted sellers that send you what they advertise !!

Many thanks

Chris

Our colonial cousins across the Atlantic reckon that Lenmar batteries are actually better than Canon originals.

I still use Canon originals, with the odd Delkin OEM thrown in, so cannot comment personally. Whilst some Chinese batteries may say 2200mah on the outside, the couple that I cracked open to re-cell actually had 1650mah celles in them....

ps Re-celling NP-E3s

Hi
Robert thanks for info have a couple of the lenmar they don't seem to be holding charge as much as they should
Maybe I will try to condition them, with some full dis-charging
I think they have been stood idle for a while

Great tip for the re-sealing will certainly get some higher cap cells now and give that ago

Thanks Again

Chris

I've tried buying some 2100 and 2400mAh from Ebay and amazon. Result - they went back next day due to very poor sealing and very poor flexible plastic construction.

Next on the list are 7dayshop or DIY. Can anyone please re-assure me that 7day ones will seal tightly leaving no gap?

edit: obviously 7dayshop now no longer have any left! Great! How much is the soldiering kit? Or shall we say it is time for 5DIII anyway?

The irony was not lost on me either...

Ordered a couple.... As y'do, like....

once you have them could you let me know whether they fit in tightly and smoothly? Thanks. NO gaps are very important.

Well, they arrived this morning (Weds)

From a purely fit and finish point of view they are nicely made and have decent quality sprung terminals (better than the Canon originals in my opinion) The lock and twist mechanism is of a good quality and of a standard better than I've ever seen on any third party NP-E3, and if I'm being really picky only just short of the Canon original. Once I'd fitted and refitted the battery the battery three -> four times (bed in the rubber seals) there was no discernible difference between a random sample of my dozen odd genuine NP-E3s and these (12 quid!) copies. They appear to fit very well, and no amount of wiggling and shaking of the guinea pig 1D would make the camera shut down.

If you, daugirdas, can suggest very specific areas that I should look at, I will take another look - but put it this way, if I'd have paid 40->50quid each for these, I would not have felt ripped off so far.

I will of course report back to this thread with my usage and charging issues, should there be any.

thanks, I've ordered one. Hopefully third time will be lucky. I might get another one later.

{All the others I bought had a massive gap between body and terminal cover (about 3-4mm) enough for rain to get in.}
