Spam email on the increase ?

Its it just me or is everyone else being bombarded at the moment?
I haven't had too much of late
but the last few days everyone
including me ( how do they do that ?)
seems to be offering me
little blue pills that will do wonderful thing for me and my lady.
( no money offers though :( )

spend the first hour of each morning shovelling the **** out of the various in-boxes
 
Yep, I get loads. I never used to, but suddenly I find it more and more difficult to find emails I actually need to read!
 
If I don't delete the spam at least once a day, I will end up with at least 1,000 spam mails in a 24 hr period.
 
And there was me thinking I was speshal :D

Get a Gmail account, all of my spam is filtered successfully.
 
I've accepted spam as part and parcel of internet life and actually don't get that many, but in the past week I've been getting loads of spam sent to my email.
"So what's new, then"? I hear you cry.
Well, this morning alone, I've had 8 spam sent to my account by . . . my own email address.
It seems that spam had now reached a new level of annoyance. :bang:

I noted that ( in my first post) as well Ian

The other one that I find annoying is the "un read" symbol no title, no header
and no return address
 
i used to get loads and loads, but of late ive recieved very little, maybe 1 spam email a day either asking for my bank details, 419 spam, and the ocasional email (from the missus i presume) telling me my cock isn't big enough

The last email I had a few minutes ago was offering me ( in the "header") a 65% reduction :D

I'm with Plusnet and I get probably no more than half a dozen a year.
 
Same here, suddenly the business addresses, which never got any, are getting loads over the last week or so, so time to add spam assassin [or whatever its called] to the server account. They just send a digest once or twice a day of all spam so any that were not meant to get caught can be released without you having to trawl through pages of the stuff. Its about £6 a year or so with our hosts and worth every bloody penny :bonk:

oh and yes, I agree with gmail accounts, the spam filters are excellent, so I have one that I use when I need toinput an email addy on something I am not 100% sure about. It only gets 4 or 5 HUNDRED spam mails a day :eek: :lol: Glad I don't have to see them!
 
Hotmail seems to correctly filter all my spam email :eek: I get several spams a day asking me if I want to increase my manhood. Yeah, I'd love to..... except I'm a girl and I don't have one to start with :lol:

For some reason the spam has gone very quiet since this thread started. Perhaps they're having a weekend off and saving it all up for me for tomorrow.:(
 
a lot of my spam seems to have links to xxx . cn
and only arrives during chinese working hours/days
prob90 some scrote wasting his employers electrons
 
I get a lot but NTL normally filters it OK, so it goes into straight into my Spam folder.

But over the last few days more are getting into my Inbox getting past the filter, weirdly things that ought to be really easy to filter ie. viagra, weight loss etc etc.

Bit odd. Not sure why the obvious stuff is getting past the filters.
 
the spammers are getting smarter
what used to be "V I A G R A" becomes "V I A G <space> <backspace> R A"
or they use pictures of the words

oh such a waste of talent!
 
I used to host with a small outfit but transferred when I tested them by leaving an email account dormant for a few days and finding there would be hundreds of spams dated with the day of checking, with only about 10 per day for the previous days.

So little finds its way to me now (using the same addresses that were previously plagued) that it's not worth the effort to set up rules to filter it.

I always check the senders and mail subjects on the server and delete the junk before downloading.
