Space Station and Space Shuttle sightings tonight 3 mins to 9pm

Another flyby logged

Next at 9:47pm.

I checked the ISS pass times for this evening on heavens-above.com and noticed the next pass was in 1 minute! Didn't have time to set up the tripod so I used the video function on the 500D. I converted the video to WMV to reduce the file size. I deliberately left the roof in the shot to show the speed of travel.

I looked on Heavens above and it said it would pass at 21.12

I stood outside between 21.05 and 21.15 and saw nowt ?

I think it was 20:12 mate

Just set up my camera and tripod and just as the ISS came into view straight above me it went into the Earth's shadow and was gone :bang:

For anyone with an ipod Touch or iphone there's an app called ISS Visibility.
It is £1.19 if I recall correctly.

As an ipod Touch user I had to enter my latitude and longitude manually but iphone users can use the locate option.

Lots of info for passes for 10 days in advance. Sky views and map views which are easy to read.

Will test the accuracy tonight but most websites use the same source (NASA) so I'm assuming this app does too.

Edit: Times are spot on

It definitely came over around 8:15, it came from fiddlers ferry direction and flew over towards B&Q warehouse ,feel free to post these directions to NASA :D, very fast though, couple of mins at most

I hadn't altered the time zone on the website to GMT. It was standard European time or whatever its called, consequently, I was an hour late !

Caught it last night though !

Although I got a better pic of it last year using my Panasonic Bridge Camera than I did this time with the 400D and Sigma 70-300.
