I am planning on a trip to South Wales for Easter weekend but I don't really know any good places to visit for photography. Only place I know is Breacon Beacons :D

So can you recommend me any good places to visit? I am interested in natural landscape mostly so mountains, rivers, lakes, and most importantly coasts/beaches.

I am willing to travel all the way to west coast if there is anyplace worth visiting.

Waiting for your suggestions now :) Thanks

Pembrokeshire! Basically all of it, I live here and theres the preselli mountains, Tenby, Saundersfoot, Llawhaden, The coastal Path, the list goes on...

I'm off to the beacons on easter mon or tues for a couple of days walking, or thats the plan!

Have you been to the waterfalls near Ystradfellte, Brecon Beacons?

Nice walk & very photogenic!

The Gower beaches!

Oxwich, Rhosili, Port Eynon and my favorite, Llangennith!

Mountains

Gower, Worms Head, Brecon Beacons

Rivers & Waterfalls

Pontneddfachan, Resolven

Coastal Beaches

Again, Gower, Swansea ~ Mumbles, Mumbles Pier

Green Landscape

Again, Gower, National Botanical Garden

Thanks everyone.

Gower seems like a popular choice..

I'll do some research today on the places you listed. Although, if the weather stays like this, I might have to cancel the trip.. :bang:

I have no idea what the weather is like there right now, but I wouldn't let it stop you from going! If it is poring rain, just get a rain-guard, or a plastic bag and rubber band; if it is really cold, wear something warm; if it's too hot (as it is here, wear something light :p) ... just don't give up on that beautiful part of the country.

Aberdulais Falls just north of neath. It's national trust and an easy place to get to (nice tea shop as well).

The national trust gold mine is worth a visit too at Pumpsaint.

Thanks everyone.

well the weather today has been rain, sleet and sunshine  but some of the beaches look great with dark "moody" weather!

edit: just thought, theres also dan-y-ogof caves, great opportunities there, and something that doesnt get photographed very often

Was planning to go down to Cardiff way on Saturday after work, forgot my sis and family were away skiing...

Might have to brave Cotswold Wildlife Park if the weather holds instead!

The Brecons are stunning and so many photo ops, the Gower as said is stunning, really stunning! There are just to many places to mention, jump in the car get lost and have fun :D

I know you are all saying that I should go anyways, but I was planning on camping, and I'd rather wait until may bank holiday since the weather is not very promising at the moment.

I can always drive down for a day trip if weather turns out nice 1 day. I am only 1 hour from Severn crossing

A place worth a visit is St Fagans ,an open air museum with loads of photo opportunities, free entry too, located in West Cardiff and just 5 minutes from the M4 junction 34(?).

more info here http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/stfagans/
