Yes
Just went out and about for half an hour on Oxford St, taking some street pics.

half way through my small walk I spotted a guy on a push-bike waiting at the lights. I took one pic, he turns round, notices me and smiles.

I take another shot....

AAGH! he screams!

"Your stealing my soul"

he comes up to me demanding I open up the film to expose it:cuckoo::cuckoo:

He actually thought I was stealing his soul! -and this was a perfectly normal guy in a suite on a bike!

after a heated discussion I told him that I was doing shots for a photography course, and that I didn't plan to do anything "negative" with the negatives ()..... he calmed down and cycled off.

some people......

Did he have a head dress and was carrying a tomahawk ?

No!

although by coincidence he was riding a raleigh tomahawk and had a scull-and-crossbones tattood on one hand I think.

I took pics on B&W so I can't get them developed until the colledge easter break is over (2 weeks:() my back-log of film is building:lol:

In some cultures people believe that photographing them is a way of stealing their souls. I forget where, it may be parts of Africa. Someone correct me?

But this guy sounds like he was just having a laugh with you :D

I know! but he wasn't having a laugh! he was dead serious! he had a terrified look to his face and tried to grab my camera! what cheek!

Nutter I think:cuckoo:

yep. you get lots of them around here..... theres one bloke who whenever you bump into, asks for change to paint his car "rainbow"

and just the general insane who decide to go shopping on oxford st in the rushhour!

Such a chap can no longer go into the centre ot any city or major town - or use an ATM - or shop at a Superstore

i.e. nutter !!!

Red indians, or native Americans if you're feeling PC. I kind of alluded to that in my post ;)

gave me a good idea for a t-shirt to get made that I can wear while toggin':

SMILE!

I have your soul...

should have offered to sell it back for him, must be equivalent to a leica ;)

That must have been a hell of a weight on the bike

 I was thinking the same.

I had a funny experience a couple of weekends back...taking some pictures down by the river and this guy started following me about and whispering inside his jacket "I'm with the SAS". When I turned to speak to him, he blurted out, "They've spotted me" and peddled off on his bike! :suspect: :cuckoo:

:bonk:

some religions believe that it is stealing your soul.

And can I ask what you did with his soul once you had stolen it? Have you still got it?

It's called care in the community. Not that long ago a lot of these people would have had a nice room with rubber wallpaper. Now they are out and about in the community, talking to themselves, being nutters, and murdering the occasional normal person, strangly they rarely murder each other. Wayne

Why do you think it is okay to shove a camera in someones face, take a pic and then waltz off?

Damn sure i would be a tad annoyed if it happened to me.

sorry all, but its 2 weeks at least before I can show off the shots! -even when college opens I have tonnes of revision, but hopefully I can get the negs dev'd and scanned by the end of that week...

it was just such a strange experience! he didn't seem in any way mad, just a normal bloke on a bike! and knowing a few "officially insane" (aka sectioned) people, he was quite the opposite to what I know as "insane"....

And I am always nice with my photo-taking! I never waltz off, if anyone does get annoyed (after I have smiled and stuck my thumbs up!) then i do offer them a print/to send them the pic! but this guy wasn't having any of it!

Also, on the matter of what I did with his soul.... well I guess I still have it if you believe him! Haven't done anything with it! dunno what to do- sell it?

FRESH SOUL ANYONE? I give you nice price :lol::lol:

Have you never had that kind of "I wish I was somewhere else" feeling when some guy points a camera at you?;)
