A few weeks ago I had a problem with using Win7 64 bit on my PC:

As I said everything was in order except the graphics which were totally horrible.
However I solved the problem with a graphics card but it still bugged me so I had another go after removing the Graphics Card.
But still no change.
When I clicked on "Screen Resolution" on the desktop I was taken to the Control Panel to adjust it, but no amount of adjustment improved it.
But then, luckily, and more by chance than anything, I clicked on the Intel HD Graphics to see if there was anything I had missed.
The top resolution was still rubbish BUT the lower resolutions worked!
Or at least the ones applicable to my TV (Samsung) did!
Just how and why this should be I don't know since I've never had that happen before no matter what setup I've used, and it also doesn't occur on XP.
But, finally, I have an i7 PC running 2 SSDs and a lot of VMs so I can edit my pics and render films to X-Vid at full speed.
Finally!
