Right, A380 now charged and on !

Is it possible to take rapid shots with the flash on ?

I can set the shutter speed to max and it takes the photo's but when I try to look at them, just a black screen !

Put the flash on and the shutter speed drops ?

Even in "sport" mode with the flash on it's very slow.

It's unclear what's happening.

You cannot use a shutter speed faster than max x-sync speed with the on-board flash. That's probably around 1/200sec - see instruction book.

Or you could be talking about the frame shooting rate with flash, which is limited by how fast the flash can recycle. Again, the instruction book will advise.

sounds like you have switched on the 2 second self-timer.
go into drive mode & set it to either single shot or continuous.

That's the flash helping the AF find focus. You'll find that the camera is focusing or trying to focus when it does the flashes. I find it's great for portrait photography as it tends to blind your subject just before you take the photo :p

And most stock flashes have a 2 second 'reload' time, so if you want to shoot rapidly with flash on, you're going to need a flashgun.

No such thing as a stupid question mate, i've tried :)

I think it may be down to the sync speed of the flash :thinking: but im not confident thats right :bonk:
