Sony vs Canon for hobbyist

A serious videographer will have cine lenses and the relevant gear to zoom and focus the lens smoothly.
Yep they likely will, but a lot of videographers do still use standard lenses and apparently this is why the Sony 16-35mm has the power zoom. That being said it’s supposed to be different to the ‘average’ power zoom in behaviour and be more akin to a manual zoom, however having never tried one I don’t know how true this is.

This is my first power zoom lens so I don't have anything to compare it with either. Although the feel is slightly different (and may not please everyone), I wouldn't say it's bad but just a little bit different - nothing to be outraged about though.

I've heard only good things about it, people say despite it being power zoom it behaves quite normally/naturally.
