hi, ive booked out a studio for tomorow and from what ive read and been told when using flash the idea is to have a slower shutter speed so thatthe flash freezes the movement. So whats the best shutter speed to use with sony?

Thanks

Another quicky what would be the best lens to use my 28-200mm or my 50mm? I know the 50mm *** mean moving around more but I dont mind that.

Thanks

no problems, having the shutter speed at the sync makes the photo process relatively easy as you just set the aperture to what you want and keep the iso as low as possible. by the way just wondering what lenses your using?

the 28-200mm is a superzoom so it comprimises IQ so if it was me i would go for the 50mm as it might make you walk around your subjct but you can really put your creativity into perspective.

Set the shutter speed at 1/125th - there's absolutely no point in using a higher shutter speed in the studio, and even if your camera will work reliably at a higher shutter speed when used with a hotshoe flash it doesn't follow that it will with studio lights - and especially if you use a radio trigger

^^^

And apart from that, the max x-sync speed on your A-200 is 1/160sec so if you do set 1/200 or 1/250sec you will be getting part of the picture black.
