Sony RX100

Does anyone know if the Sony RX100 MKII leather case will fit the RX100 camera please
Thanks
Dave

Great shots there Stuart!

Anybody recommend a good charger and battery? Sony seems a bit steep!

So annoyed I missed the RX100 on Amazon at under £300. Preying it comes back on tonight or tomorrow for their cyber Monday thingy.

I ummed and ahhhed all day about getting it. Got it on the credit card and was doing some extra work to pay it off. Was going to tell SWMBO once I'd done the extra work tomorrow!

It was a great plan until she found the box this morning!!!

I saw it there, and it had time left on the deal but I didn't know anything about the camera, just presumed it was a compact so didn't bother adding it to my cart.

Then saw this thread.....

So, yeah thanks guys. You are gonna have cost me another £300. I'm bound to buy one now I've seen one in the flesh and seen the images it produces.

I thought my fuji x10 would fulfil my small camera needs, but it's not really pocketable, even though I love it, I think the rx100 might be the one!

I bought the EX-pro charger and battery a couple of weeks ago based on the online reviews, all seems to work okay and good value, have not as yet used the battery.......... Charger & Battery

I really dont think you will be disappointed with it Tom.

any problems with dust getting inside the camera, through the zoom lens !
mentioned on one of the amazon reviews

Jessops have a one day sale and are doing rx100 for 349 today.

No dust in mine, and its spends most of its time in my pocket without a case.

It's karma - I'm fairly sure I got a samyang 85 f1.4 based on your recommendation ;-) and I love that lens!

Haha, could well be. Still love mine too, one lens I dont think I will ever sell!

So still waiting for other stuff to shoot but already really liking this camera a lot. Definitely won't replace my slr but its a great pocket rocket!!

So apologies, yet another one of me in not great light, showing off the ipad's terrible low light ability!!

Keep an eye on the Sony outlet. They have the mk1 for £320 and mk2 for about £450 every now and then.

Ok peeps. Anybody use filters. If so, how and what kind. Also are you happy with the results?

....Definitely yes! I now have a Sony leather case which fits both RX100 versions. New, still boxed and unused.

I'll post it up for sale when I return home after the weekend. I think you have first dibs, Dave

Thanks, Robin, I will keep my eyes open for it.
I'm in Spain at the moment so will log on whenever I can
What colour is it please and did you try it with the RX100
Thanks
Dave

I picked up my RX100 II on Saturday and shot some pics at The Bluebell Railway on a largely very overcast day. I also shot pics there on my Canon 70D + 70-200mm f4L IS handheld. I'm back home now after the weekend away and am starting to check the RX100 II pics - I shot in both RAW and JPEG but am thinking why bother with shooting JPEGs at all.

Will post pics when ready but won't they have to go through the photobucket/JPEG tunnel to arrive on the forum?

I'm uploading into iPhoto 9.5 (Mac) and exporting RAW (.ARW) to edit in Photoshop CS6. I have Aperture 3.5 installed so might upload into that instead.

I am always blown away with it when I use it.I did almost consider selling it and getting a ricoh gr but think I may regret it and would rather try both side by side and sell on the one I least preferred.

I'm thinking of getting one of these again for when I go abroad for a couple of weeks in February. It makes more sense to me to bring along a high quality compact than my x-e1 plus lenses.

I was also comparing the M2 to the M1 and it looks like if you need the flip screen or a hotshoe then go for the M2. I am going to see if I can get my hands on the M1 and sell my G11. I used this camera briefly and its a joy.

looking forward to seeing some more pics in the thread with all these new owners!!

The M2 obviously costs more but there's an improved sensor and other features which the M2 has over the M1.

The screen is only tilt and not fully articulated but it is nevertheless useful - I used it this morning. The M2 LCD screen is especially clear.

But the M1 is still a great camera and can be bought new for much less than the M2 - You pays yer money and takes yer pick.
