Sony RX Series United Thread (Any RX Camera)

With the 20fps and 200mm focal length of the RX100VII, I have been waiting to try and see how suitable for taking pics of Cricket in a local park it is, and last week I got to try it. :) I usually use a Nikon D500 with 70-300mm lens on a tripod, but this time I was just using the RX100VII handheld, and for a first attempt I have been pleased. With the 70-300mm I was always at about 250mm when aimed at the far stumps, so had to crop in a bit more than usual.

"Excellent" landscape style capture Mike, with good composition and some lovely colours.

Very nice industrial style capture Alby, with some complimentary light for the subject.

"I love the little RX100 cameras, I have a M6 which is pretty much the same (performance wise) as your M7, ie lens, sensor etc and to be perfectly honest I've always thought it to be optically as good as our RX10M4 units but without the extra reach"

Yes I agree, I don't see any real difference between the two. I tend to use the rx100 more if going out with the family or holidays, it really is a super little camera.

No Longer Available.

A few from a trip last week to Tenby (South Wales) with friends, with my brand new RX100 VII and my first ever Sony.

Very nice set of vacation style captures Andrew, liking all of these very much.

The TS Queen Mary was built in 1933 and was affectionately called "The Glasgow Boat", having sailed daily from Broomielaw.
Substantial work is needed before the TS Queen Mary can sail, including replacing the engine.
It is hoped it will be back in service by the summer of 2024.
Once known as Britain's finest pleasure steamer, it formerly carried about 13,000 passengers per week.

Very nice marine style capture Mike, I'm always surprised at the high quality images that can be obtained from these little RX units, and this pic is no exception.

This guy turned up with several loaves to feed the pigeons in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.
Hope he and Jollibee aren't connected

Very nice candid street style capture Mike, bit like the feeding of the 5,000.

Visited the National Botanical Gardens of Wales near Carmarthen today for the first time in 14 years even though it's only an hour down the road. Lovely place to visit, but particularly enjoyed the British Birds of Prey Centre where they run 3 flying shows a day. We managed to catch one. I "only" had my Sony RX100vi with me as it was a wet start and I didn't want to lug my non weather sealed mirrorless around with me all day and I could just stick the Sony in my pocket. Light was a bit "meh", but I think I did all right....

I took this while waiting on the Tube from Hillhead to Ibrox in Glasgow.
There wasn't much colour so I converted it to mono but it still lacked something.
I remembered years ago when Colour Popping was a passing craze so I introduced the orange back into the image.
