Hello all,

I just dropped my lovely RX100 Mk1 on the deck and it's stopped working. When I switch it on I get a "Turn power off then on" prompt on the screen. That is, power comes on, the lens does not power on and the caption appears. Playback is normal. Menus are normal. Just can't get the lens to extend. I've switched it on and off several times and taken the battery out and in - nada. Anyone had the same?

HI David,

I had the same symptom but without it knowingly being dropped. I tried everything you have too, including leaving the battery out for 30+mins and pressing the on/off button and shutter release simultaneously, also gently trying to prise the lens out...in the end I embraced the mechanial/electrical failure as an excellent excuse to justify my purchase of the Mk III. Which I'm glad I did.

Hope you manage to fix it but I admitted defeat trying to fix mine and accepted it had had a good life!
