Hi, iv got a sony A350 and looking for a good all round lens for motorsport use... goot zoon and quick shutter... and if im honest... iv not a clue what to look for but been advised to look at one of these sony 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G SSM
Or can anyone recoment anything else?
If this was a good option.. were would be the best place to buy from..

Thanks alot Dave.

I would think that the 70-300mm G SSM should be pretty good for motorsport but it will depend what circuits etc. you will be visiting in case you need something with a slightly longer reach.
Park Cameras have it at £533 atm & they are a good, reputable firm.

You might also want to consider a s/h Sigma 100-300mm f4.
What's your budget?

Ah thanks... My budget is about that... but if there is something better and worth the extra then ill save a little longer...

Thanks

Have a look at the sigma 100-300mm f4, great lens, very sharp, f4 throughout the focal range, friend has one for a canon mount, but there should be no difference for sony mount. Great lens, recommend it.

Do a search on TP for it. Price about £700

Wow that looks Cool...
Whats TP out of intrest.. ??
Thanks

Huummm.... thing so.... hahaha Sorry bit slow...
Thanks

No HSM on Minolta/Sony version of that lens - not certain that it will have any effect on focus speed though as the Sonys have a strong in-body motor.

ok ill save a little more for the sigma then is that the best idea??

thanks again..

dave

I've got the non-DG version of the Sigma & tbh despite it's excellent reputation I've never been that impressed by it.
I suspect that if I was buying in that range now that I would buy the Sony G SSM. In fact I've just ordered the 70-400 G SSM & if I can live without the constant f4 I'll probably be selling the Sigma.

ok some one in a local camera store sugested i look for something was a f2.8??

ok forget that idea.. ahaha
so still that sigma lens would be a good investment?
Thanks guyes...
